I know this seems like a really disgusting problem and it really has no solutions except for one.
Lily likes the toilet. I mean *really* likes the toilet. Every time she hears the door open she races to the bathroom so that she can stick her hand in the toilet. Yesterday I didn't catch her in time and when I caught up with her she was playing in the toilet water WHILE Rachel was peeing into the toilet. I have to wash Lily's hands at least half a dozen times a day. The two older girls have learned to KEEP THE DOOR CLOSED AT ALL TIMES but Rachel is still a bit dense about this. She just leaves the door open for Lily to come play. The other girls all had a mild interest in the toilet but I've never seen it this bad. AARRGGHHHHH!

I can sense your immense level of frustration here, yet all I can do is laugh!! And be thankful that neither of my kids were ever interested in the toilet and never played in it...as far as I know at least...
And how old is Lily? :)
My Raechel, when she was about 18 to 24 months, went through an "I love toilet water" phase too. I really don't remember any of my other girls doing that at all!
I washed her hands all the time, and now she is in an "I love to wash my hands all the time and splash soap and water all over the bathroom/kitchen" phase. *rolleyes* I can't win! :-p
Yeah, Lily is 9 months old. She's got superhero hearing and she's lightning quick with the crawling. You can see this look of glee on her face while she's splashing toilet water everywhere. It's so disgusting. What is it with water. My girls love water, too. I mean, if they get even the remotest chance to play in water, any amount of water AT ALL, they do it. They've taken to filling up pots and pans with water and having "tea" with these things and then if they are playing outside, there is always a track of water from inside to out where they've been running back and forth with cups and cups of water. I can't wait to have a house with a hose and a POOL BATH so they won't track mud and water everywhere in the house.
i'm with johanna, all i can do is laugh! it's funny when it's not your kid.
OK, I have no ideas for you at all... but that is SO FUNNY.
If it makes you feel better, Jack likes to crawl into the bathroom, dump the trash can over and try to eat the bits of tissue inside....
That is even MORE gross, no?
Oh- and didn't Ella like the toilet, too? I swear I have a picture of her somewhere with her hands in the toilet at your parents house.....
Joanna, this reminds me of that time that I went with you to your friend's house in Columbia and we caught Ella drinking out of the dog's water bowl... just like a dog :) it makes me laugh every time I think of it!
Tina, I have to say that Jack eating tissue out of the trash is grosser (is that a word?)! I need to look up the rules on "more ....." versus ".....er". Anyway, I was going to mention how Caleb has lately been obsessed with scratching his behind with his hand down his pants. Ewww! But that's not really funny. It's mostly embarrassing cause he does it out in public.
