Yeah, we're already waffling...waffeling...wafefeling on Havah. My grandpa says its too hard to say. I don't know what to do now. Her middle name will definitely still be Lyn, no matter what her first name is. I'm getting desperate, just randomly putting first/middle names of people I love/respect and seeing if it goes with Lyn McPherson. LOL. The first ones were names we really liked, now it's just ones that aren't horrible like LaQuinita or something like that.

Can't do Amanda Lyn because that sounds like: a mandolin. Hannah Lyn? Boy that name is totally overused. I still like Anna Lyn but Del says that because Rachel's middle name is Anne we can't have a girl with the first name Anna.

One thing we'll never run out of: pink clothes and blanket.

Johanna Lyn sounds good! And then you could name her after a much loved mother/daughter combo! :)

So I have been thinking about the whole name thing, and I am thinking that since you and Del have wanted to use the name Havah ever since you were pregnant with Rachel, you should use it. It is the name that will not go away! Who cares if it isn't a typical name. If you guys like it, use it! And I think that Havah Lyn sounds very nice together.

I like Havah Lyn! Lyn is an easy name to go with, so that should help :) I would feel odd about the Anne and Anna, too. Why not just Jo? :-D I love the name Jo. As a whole name, or as a nickname for Joanna ;) .... Or you could take out the "O" and name her Janna... I have a friend named Janna. (pronounce like Anna with a J! ;)) Oh, I love talking baby names :)

And I would LOVE to have another girl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Which would make me 5 too ;))

Congrats! :)

Oooh, I like Janna Lyn too. It is a bit of a combination between Joanna and Anna. Aren't you so glad you posted this so we could all give you so many good and helpful suggestions? :)

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!
How exciting, 5 girls!! I think you are soooo blessed!
:-)
Wish I was there to give ya a hug!

LOL, absolutely. I thought of Jana (instead of Janna) when I was pregnant with Lily. Del vetoed that one. I actually did think of Johanna Lyn, too but I can already tell you what Del will say about that. I can't figure out why Havah sticks around because honestly I'm not that fond of it anymore. Just like Samuel. Del still really wants to name a son Samuel but I'm not really that fond of the name anymore. Like we'll ever have sons anyway! LOL.

You never know! LOL

I really like Hannah Lyn, I actually know a Hannah McPherson, and she is THE SWEETEST! She is a teen now, but I have known her since birth and always loved her name :) So my opinion may be colored by that ;)

What do (or did) you like about Havah?

It isn't hard to say, but I can see so much bad potential for bad nick-names.

This is coming from a girl who was hollered at as "LalalalalaBomba" haha

Of course I went and named my oldest Kela, and now her DAD teases her and calls her Tequila. Man, I wish I'd seen this latino theme coming! LOL

Anyhow, maybe you should post some more names for us to "help" you with .... ;)

I think the worst thing about Havah is that people will call her "hava nagila." That traditional Jewish song you hear in all the movies when they're getting married because 1)that's the only Jewish tunes movies producers can come up with and 2) they do sing it at weddings. Two different Hava/hs though. Maybe I should as my Jewish neighbors what they think of the name. Del was originally concerned that...we're not Jewish and it definitely sounds like maybe we should be Jewish. Just like Moshe. Only Jews name their kid Moshe, gentiles name their kid Moses.

I like Maya Lyn. But Del thinks that Maya Angelou is sorta dumb.

So what if Maya Angelou is sorta dumb? I *LOVE* Maya Lyn!!

I was not very impressed with Faith Hill when I named my 3rd dd Faith, but since it was a name Kevin and I both liked, we went with it. Her name is my favorite name now. But it could also be because of her middle name - Annalin ;)

Anyhow. I love Maya Lyn :)

If you want your name to be a "different" name, try looking up Welsh or Gaelic names or words! ;)

Okay, I asked my neighbor what she thought of Havah and she gushed and squealed and said "Oh that's beautiful!"

I feel much better now.

Joanna said...

She was so excited that she loaned me her "Fiddler on the Roof" CD since there are 5 daughters and one of them is named Havah and there's a song with her name in it.

Awesome :)

I love it when people like my names :)

Anonymous said...

So I been wanting to know, what are your other girls' names?!

Joanna said...

Oh yeah. Okay...

Ella Renee
Sarah Elaine
Rachel Anne
Lily Irene

Anonymous said...

Beautiful names! :) I knew you had a Rachel and a Lily :) but hadn't ever heard the others' names!

Joanna said...

Well thank you.

I just now noticed that all their middle names end in an "e." If we name this one Havah Lyn we break the cycle.

Joanna said...

Oh my gosh, it's actually "ne." Maybe we should spell Lyn L-y-n-n-e instead. Although, Lyn is much, much prettier.

M said...

well if you did do Havah Lyn and it became an issue you could always use the middle name as the main name.... My mom does that.

and I know you mentioned the hava nagila thing last time when you debated this, and I wouldn't have had a clue if you didn't mention it.... and I didnt remember it this time either. I think it is just something that jewish backgrounds would know... besides, it isn't a bad thing to be associated with judism.... Christians are in large part jewish decedants.

See personally I would go with the ne at the end, so they'd all end with "e" haha. But I am weird that way. All my kids have 12 letters in their names. After I realized it my mil thought it was awesome, because all their names had 5 letters (first names only). So that is cycle I have tried to perpetuate. ;)
