There's a First Time For Everything

Today I had a first. I was pulled over for speeding. I've never actually been stopped before. I made it through 16 years of driving with never being stopped for anything. I cannot say that anymore... Surprisingly, I stayed calm, and he let me go with a warning. Whew!

The exact same thing happened to me a couple months ago. Kevin hung it up on the cork board in the office. He has got several tickets, and wanted me to remember my ALMOST ticket ;) hehehe

I have been driving for 18 years though ;)

I didn't get anything written to commemorate my experience, fortunately.

18 years? Wow, you're old! :)

I know. I will be 35 in December! ACK! Where did the time go?!

I hate that I cannot rub it in to Kevin anymore about my perfect driving record. *snort* hehe

That's good that you were able to stay calm. I've been pulled over twice (for not wearing my seatbelt and the other for running a red light) and I was really nervous both times. Luckily, I didn't get a ticket either time though. Were the boys with you?

Oh my gosh, that is so nerve-racking; even thinking about being pulled over sends my blood pressure up.

Since I've become a rational adult I've not been pulled over at all. When I was 17/18 though...that's another story. I almost killed a cop by cutting him off making a left turn. He pulled me over and when I explained that I couldn't see him and that I was on my way to the pet store to get fish for my friend's birthday, he just let me go. Nice guy. I also got pulled over for not stopping at a stop sign. But this cop really just wanted to pull me and LIZ over so he could search my car for pot. He said he smelled it. I didn't smoke pot, but I learned later that when I was at work, LIZ was borrowing my car and smoking pot in it with her friend Darla. Nice, eh? I also got a speeding ticket. My parents and my brother were all in the car at the time.
