An Expensive Problem

...I think my computer is dead. That's bad, it has all of our 20,000 pictures on them. Del is going to look at it today when he gets home from work golfing. Man, I let him golf a lot. What a whiny good and kind wife I am. He may have to turn my computer into a slave drive in order to get ALL MY RECIPES, HOMESCHOOL STUFF AND pictures off of the blasted machine. Was life simpler without computers? I can't remember.

Oh no!! That's horrible! I hope all your stuff gets saved. I have been thinking about buying one of those flash drives to put all of our pictures on so I can get it off my computer. But it really scares me to have that much stuff on such a tiny piece of equipment. But, the alternative is to print it all out and store it ... where??

Yeah, hence all the pictures are on the computer. 20,000 or more pictures is expensive to print out and takes up a crazy amount of space.

Jerry keeps telling me that I need to back up my computer because, like you, mine has all of our pictures, recipes, and homeschool on it too! I hope Del can recover it all for you!

You know what's ironic? We have an external hard drive that we could back up this stuff on. The last time it was backed up was...beginning of this year?? so we wouldn't lost all that much, but I can't even turn the flipping thing on so here I am doing school by the seat of my pants. It's a good thing "by the seat of my pants" (IDIOM) is my school motto.

Simpler, definitely. Easier, more convenient? Perhaps not...
