You Are the Sun

Ever heard of Sara Groves? She is my favorite female songstress...EVER. She has a beautiful voice and her lyrics are filled with hope and forgiveness and praise. One of my favorite songs of her makes me cry just about every time. The analogy is profound.

You Are the Sun

You are the sun shining down on everyone
Light of the world giving light to everything I see
Beauty so brilliant I can hardly take it in
And everywhere you are is warmth and light

And I am the moon with no light of my own
Still you have made me to shine
And as I glow in this cold dark night
I know I can't be a light unless I turn my face to you

You are the sun shining down on everyone
Light of the world giving light to everything I see
Beauty so brilliant I can hardly take it in
And everywhere you are is warmth and light

And I am the moon with no light of my own
Still you have made me to shine
And as I glow in this cold dark night
I know I can't be a light unless I turn my face to you

Shine on me with your light
Without you I'm a cold dark stone
Shine on me I have no light of my own
You are the sun, you are the sun, you are the sun
And I am the moon

Rewrite This Tragedy is another that makes me cry.

it makes me cry with joy, not with sorrow.

How funny that you should post this today. I got on the site to post, which I'll do as soon as I finish this comment, and I am having more "deep" thoughts to post on too!

Those lyrics - You Are the Sun - are so good for me to hear today. I'll write more about it in my post, but that is one of the things God is showing me right now. I am just a relfection of him. He is everything, not me. Yet he still lets me shine. Wow.
